The Grade Normalization Process
On October 27, 2005, the SBA President and Faculty Representatives presented a limited explanation of SBA's opposition to the grade normalization process at the general faculty meeting. We will return to the November general faculty meeting to present a motion to change the process in a way that reflects student opinion.
SBA and Administration will hold a town-hall forum on the issue in Tabor this week, date and time TBA. To be as productive as possible, SBA would like all students who attend to read the information below before coming to the forum.
Following is information on the process, and arguments for and against its implementation. At this time, SBA has not heard any student arguments in favor of the GNP in its current state. Please let the SBA Admin Board know why you are in favor of or opposed to the GNP through our suggestion box, or post your comments for everyone to view on SBA's grade norming bulletin board forum. *Note: comments sent via email or the suggestion box may be posted to the bulletin board forum (minus any identifying information) if they will help stir debate.
