Initiation is Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30. Please try to
attend even if you are not participating in the ceremony.
For the service project, the schools have been contacted,
and we are waiting to hear back from them. All of the
societies have agreed to hold a session. The food was
ordered this week. We are still looking for a speaker.
FE review sessions began this week. They are all one hour
sessions held in room 131. Please check the posters for
topics and dates.
The chapter bylaws were handed out to new initiates. If
you have not received a copy, please see Brent.
There is a campus wide leadership conference being held
Sunday, March 24. Julie will email more information.
The TBP conference will be held April 6 at Rose-Hulman. We
will leave Friday night. Please contact Brent immediately
if you are interested in attending.
The next meeting will be Monday, April 1. We will be
holding elections at that time. If you would like to

Thank you to all those who helped out with TED especially
Julie.
Please remember to keep filling out your index cards.
Please include if you attended TED.
Spring initiation will be on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30.
Lofgren, Julie, Lisa, Elizabeth, and Paul McGovern have all
agreed to help out. We still need one more person to help
at the ceremony. All members should try to attend.
FE Review sessions are currently being scheduled. All of
the professors have been contacted. The first one is
tentatively scheduled for the first Tuesday after break.
Look for future emails that will contain more information.
We decided to serve box lunches to the students for the
service project. I am still currently looking for speakers
if you have any suggestions. I will also be attending DSAC
this week to get confirmation from all of the organizations
on their participation.
We realized that new members never received a copy of the
chapter's bylaws. Those will be distributed shortly. Just
a quick reminder of the attendance policy: if a member
has three consecutive unexcused absences, s/he will receive
a formal written warning and will meet with the advisors.
Office elections will be held April 1. If you are
currently on co-op and would like to run for a position,
email myself or Brent and we will put your name on the
ballot.
Next meeting: March 18 (the first day back from break)

Please remember to keep filling out your index cards. If you have sold
tickets or helped out for TED, please include that time.
Brent has some Bulletins that are sent out to members. Members who were
intitated last semester probably didn't receive that issue. If you would
like one, please see Brent.
There are several scholarships available for juniors who will be here next
year. One is through Student Senate that is available to active members
in Senate recognized organizations. The other is through TBP. Brent has
applications for both.
Julie confirms that everything is under control for TED. There was a
slight menu change. Please keep promoting the event as ticket sales end
Thursday. If anyone has ideas for door pizes, see Julie. We also need
four to five volunteers to help out the night of TED. You would need to
arrive at the Great Hall at 5:30. If you can help out, please email
Brent.
We have a tentative schedule for FE Review sessions. Professors will be
contacted this week.
The regional conference for TBP is April 6. We are allowed to send eight
members. Newly elected officers usually attend. Please keep the date
free if you plan to run for an exec. board position.
We will be taking a collection for the World Relief Fund. There will be a
jar at the door of the TED Banquet.
The Service project will be on April 13. Please volunteer to help with
your society's activities.
Next meeting Feb. 25.

Mary Treanor, a math professor, is looking for volunteers to help with the
MENI camp and Mathcounts. The MENI camp is Feb. 7-8. She needs women to
house the participants the evening of Feb. 7. She also needs help from
men or women to take the participants to lunch, dinner, and the bball
game. Mathcounts is Feb. 12, and she needs graders for the event. If you
can help out, please see Professor Treanor for details and exact time
commitments.
We had 43 participants at Engineering Futures this past Saturday. A
special thanks to Julie for organizing the activity.
We voted on the TED menu. The entrees will be carved turkey and baked
spinach lasnaga. The sides will be whipped potatoes, stuffing, green
beans, corn, gelatin, and tossed salad with marble layered cake served as
dessert.
Dr. Harre and Professor Krouger have both agreed to speak at the TED
banquet.
We will be selling tickets Feb. 4 through Feb. 14. The price is $9 for
students, and they can put up to $6 on their meal cards. The price for
professors is $14. The schedule for selling tickets is listed below. The
first student listed needs to get the cash box from Cami around 10:45 and
will sit at the table until 11:30. The second student will sit at the
table from 11:30 until 12:15 and return the box to Cami when done.

not to place signs on wooden surfaces.
The date for the election meeting will be Monday, Feb. 11 from 5:30 to
6:30. We will also be voting on ratifications for nationals at that time.
We need at least three quarters of our active members there to be able to
vote. If you can't make it, please email me this week. If we dont have
enough members, we will have to move the meeting.
Professor Johnson and I have decided to go ahead with the joint project
just without the speaker. We will need the participation of all the

work done for TBP.
As a chapter we need to vote on two amendments to the
National Constitution. The first one would make English
the official language of TBP. The second would put a
chapter on probation if it didn't hold initiation once a
fiscal year. We will vote on these amendments after the
initiation of our new members.
Don't forget, engineering formal is coming up. Tickets are
on sale at chapel break.
The Learning Center is still looking for mentors. If
interested, please contact Laura Sanders in the Learning
Center.
The website has been updated. If you would like your
resume posted to the site, please email John
(john.lofgren@valpo.edu) your resume. It can be in Word,
PDF, or HTML form.
We have found out that one of the shirt colors is different
than shown when we showed the shirts. We will refund the
money of anyone not happy with the new color. Eric will
send an email to anyone whose shirt was to be shipped to
see if they still want the shirt. The yellow shirts are on
back order. We are going to wait to pick up the shirts
until they are all available.
For the joint project with OMP, a request letter was sent
to Mae Jemison asking her to speak. A grant proposal was
also sent to ASME requesting funding.

arrive the second week of November. Eric plans to
start a file with the information gathered this year to
help aid members of TBP that organize this activity next
