VALPARAISO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS FOR LIFE Purpose Statement We are a bioethics education and advocacy organization and our purpose is three-fold: 1) to educate students about current bioethical issues through knowledgeable speakers, local and national conferences, and informative literature 2) to empower students to engage their peers and professors in relevant discussion about the following issues: • Genetic Engineering • Abortion • Assisted Suicide • Euthanasia • Stem Cell Research • Human Cloning 3) to find ways to work within the community to enhance the lives of those who are especially vulnerable and to promote reverence for and support equal protection of the lives of all human beings—especially, but not limited to, the unborn, the aged, the ill, and the mentally and physically disabled
