We have Division I athletics, a bustling campus union, arts and cultural events, and more than 100 campus organizations for you to take part in. Still, we’re small enough to offer opportunities for everyone to become involved.
Events
Each day at Valpo, students choose from a variety of arts, athletics, social, and cultural events. University Programming Council (UPC) sponsors a variety of activities including films, lectures, concerts, outdoor recreation trips, coffeehouses, trips to Chicago, and much more.
The Harre Union
The Union is at the heart of campus life and serves as a hub for student activities and events. It is home to Student Senate, University Programming Council, and a 24-hour Student Organization Suite.
With its varied dining options, comfortable lounges, and indoor/outdoor games and recreational center, the Union is also a great place to hang out with friends.
Greek Life
Fraternities and sororities play an important role in many of our students’ journeys. Greek life at Valpo is characterized by close friendships, leadership opportunities, and service to the community.
There are eight fraternities and seven sororities, which are governed by the Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Council respectively. Most fraternities are housed in their own residences, while sororities are housed in Scheele Hall in individualized units with chapter rooms.

Student Groups
Valpo offers more than 100 student clubs and organizations for you to take part in. Student groups have their own space in the Harre Union in the Student Organization Suite (SOS).
Getting involved is easy. The SOS Desk provides a comprehensive listing and contact information for all student groups.
