kevin ostoyich

Valparaiso University's administered study abroad programs have resident directors who manage the programs on a day-to-day basis, teach two courses for the students and coordinate group excursions and cultural activities. Since 1990, VU has sent 16 different faculty members, and their families, to the Hangzhou, China program.

Professor Kevin Ostoyich has taught at VU since 2006.  He received his B.A. from the U. of Pennsylvania and Ph.D. from Harvard U.  At Valpo he teaches courses on Imperial Germany, Hitler and the Third Reich, Violence, Historiography, and European History.  He is the author of the book The German Society of Pennsylvania: A Guide to Its Book and Manuscript Collections (German Historical Institute: 2006) and is currently finishing a book manuscript titled The Transatlantic Soul: Emigration from the Catholic Revival to the First World War.  Prof. Ostoyich will be joined by his wife Rebecca and their superstar daughter Daphne.
