Valpo Clubs and regional groups throughout the country sponsor more than 50 events per year. Valpo Clubs are now active in 21 areas. Groups of alumni not residing in Valpo Club communities also are welcome to plan events. Alumni events are an excellent opportunity to find other Crusaders living and working in your community, and to find out the "inside scoop" about what's happening on campus
You and the more than 50,000 alumni of Valpo make up the VUAA. Since 1934, the association has worked to strengthen the relationship between the University and its alumni. Membership in the VUAA is free and open to any graduate or former student having completed at least one semester.
An active board of directors manages the programs, events, and activities of the association. Board members are actively involved with regional and national programs designed to advance the mission and strategic plan of the University.
The VUAA board of directors maintains a balance in its membership that reflects the demographic and geographic characteristics of the entire alumni population. In recruiting new members to the board, a nominating committee seeks input from all alumni and actively recruits new members annually. If you are interested in a position on the board, or would like to recommend someone, please contact us at email@example.com.
The Valparaiso University Guild has existed since 1931, and is committed to enhancing the student experience while exemplifying the University’s ideals of scholarship, freedom, and faith. Guild members are alumni, parents, employees, and friends of the University. The Guild has over 600 members nationwide that are dedicated to serving Valpo students. Members work independently or in groups to serve, fundraise and promote Valparaiso University.
The mission of the Valparaiso University Parents Council is to serve an ambassadorial role promoting and supporting Valpo, and act as a liaison between parents, students and the University. The Parents Council does this by providing various activities for parents, such as the Parents Council Welcome Tent on move-in day and Family, Sibs and Kids Weekend in October. Parents Council members also are on hand during FOCUS, Valpo's new student orientation, to provide a touch point for parents and answer questions. The Parents Council also reaches out to the parents of incoming students three times per year with the Valpo Parent newsletter. The group meets twice per year on campus, and membership is made up of 30 parents of current undergraduate students.
Nearly 1,000 alumni and parent volunteers connect thousands of prospective students to the world of Valpo through the Valpo Admission Network (VAN). VAN members are found at high school college fairs, networking at Valpo's receptions for admitted students, and chatting with students in their churches. VAN members are friendly and knowledgeable individuals who want to help prospective students learn more about Valparaiso University. Involvement with the VAN is flexible, too – you control the amount of time you invest!Membership lasts for an academic year, and members may opt out during the annual re-enrollment time in early fall.
