Theatre Outreach Performances (T.O.P.) is an alliance
of students, faculty, Valparaiso University service groups, and community organizations who are interested in using theatre arts to address social issues in educational settings. Founded in 1993 by BettyAnn Leeseberg-Lange, Associate Professor of VU's Department of Theatre and Television Arts, T.O.P. combines the urgency of contemporary issues with the immediacy of interactive theatre performance and production. T.O.P. presents plays and scenarios in which audience members are able to talk about the topic of the play with the performers, both during and after performances. Productions are presented for students from kindergarten to university, both within classroom settings and larger performance venues.
