Faculty Profile

Frederick A. Niedner, , Senior Research Professor

Former Chair of the Theology Department

College of Arts and Sciences - Room 304
(219) 464-5281

Professional Activity

My ongoing work in biblical theology focuses on narrative portions of the scriptures, with particular attention to the wilderness tradition, stories of forgiveness and reconciliation, and the ways that oft-told and oft-heard stories create a world in which listeners find meaning, identity and vocation.

Other Interests

I have served numerous adjunct roles at Valparaiso University's Chapel of the Resurrection, contribute regularly to publications that offer text studies and other resources for preaching in the church, and write a fortnightly column on matters religious for the NW Indiana Post-Tribune, http://posttrib.suntimes.com/news/niedner/index.html
