Biography

Professional Activity

My ongoing work in biblical theology focuses primarily on enmity and polarization in the biblical world and the ways in which biblical texts have been employed to perpetuate those same things in our world. My studies also probe the wilderness theme that runs throughout the Bible as well as the crucial themes of reconciliation and forgiveness.

Other Interests

I have served numerous adjunct roles at Valparaiso University's Chapel of the Resurrection, contribute regularly to publications that offer text studies and other resources for preaching in the church, and write a fortnightly column on matters religious for the NW Indiana Post-Tribune, http://posttrib.suntimes.com/news/niedner/index.html
