THEOLOGY MAJOR AND MINOR

(continued)

  •     Five additional courses in Theology chosen in consultation with departmental major advisor

Majors must take at least two courses (6 credits) in addition to 493 that are designated in the Schedule of Classes as courses primarily intended for theology majors (not fulfilling this stipulation are 451, 453, 480, 493).

Minor in Theology

The minor in Theology consists of a minimum of 18 credit hours in addition to the Freshman Core, chosen by the student in consultation with the Chair of the Department or the Chair's designated representative, constitutes a minor.  Ordinarily, six courses will complete the minor, including THEO 200, The Christian Tradition, (or for Christ College students, CC215), plus five courses chosen from among 300-level or 400-level courses.

Fulfilling Major Field Requirements

The requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree, as listed in the University Bulletin, provide several options for fulfilling the major field requirements.  In addition to a department major (or an individualized major), you must complete one of the following:

  • an academic minor
  • a second academic major
  • the Liberal Arts Business minor
  • an expansion of the first major to a 40 credit major.

Your program of study in Theology can be tailored to fit all these options, either as your first major or your expanded 40 credit major, or as your second major or your minor to supplement your major in another department.
