Games and Recreation CenterNext to the Campus Cafe dining area, The Games and Recreation Center includes free access to billiards, foosball, and table tennis for all Valpo students, faculty and staff, and the Outdoor Recreation Center, where you can rent everything from mountain bikes to tents to lawn games and sleds. Catch your favorite program on one of our TVs or just hang out with friends
Tournaments happens often, from billiards to table tennis to foosball. Sign up in advance. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 players and in the past around Halloween costume contests have even been held!
ACUI National Billiards Tournament
The Games and Recreation Center holds its annual Campus Tournament in January to send 2 male and 2 female delegates to the Regional Billiards Competition for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Qualifying Tournaments are held on 2 days and the winner each day will advance to the Regional Billiards Competition. We play 9-ball for the tournaments because that is what the game play is at hte Regional Competition. The Regional Competition this year is held in Bloomington, Indiana at Indiana University on February 5-7.ACUI National Ping Pong Tournament
The Games and Recreation Center is again this year going to enter contestants in the Ping Pong Tournaments. With the increased interest in Ping Pong and the formation of the new Ping Pong league, that is now in its 3rd semester, we will also be sending 2 male and 2 female delagetes to the Regional Billiards Competition for the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). We are excited to do this again in the 2010 semester. The Qualifing Tourney and Regional Competition for Ping Pong will be held the same weekends at Pool.
