Valparaiso University, consistent with its efforts to foster an environment of respect for the dignity and worth of all members of the University community, prohibits discrimination and harassment by all faculty, staff, and students. Discrimination and harassment by any faculty, staff, or student is a barrier to the educational and scholarly purposes of Valparaiso University and is a violation of law. Valparaiso University affirms its committment to maintaining an academic and working environment which is fair, respectful, and free from discrimination and harassment. To these ends, the following policy has been adopted:
It is the policy of Valparaiso University to prohibit unlawful discrimination on the basis of gender, disability, race, color, age, veteran status, or national origin in its educational programs, admissions policies, employment policies, financial aid, or other school-administered programs or policies. This policy is enforced by applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972,Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1990, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967.
