Additional Facts About President-Elect Heckler

He grew up in the small Pennsylvania coal-mining town of Windber.
Married 30 years this May to wife Veronica. They were high school sweethearts who met in marching band where Mark played four instruments.
Nearly 25 years ago Mark and Veronica joined the Lutheran church as members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Loudonville, N.Y. They later would join St. Philip Lutheran Church in Littleton, Colo., where both have been active volunteers.
They have four children: Zachary, 26; Jocelyn Earnest, 24; Miranda, 22; and Susanne, 20.
Mark’s parents, Donald and Cecelia Heckler, still live in Windber, as does Veronica’s mother, Martha Makuch. Veronica’s father, Andrew Makuch Sr., died in 1990. Mark’s only sibling, Brian Heckler, is a partner with KPMG in Chicago, and Veronica’s only sibling, Andrew Makuch Jr., is a firefighter in Manassas, Va.
