Peter Serchuk: "Wedding Song"

I married her,

the one who left me,

took her as my bride for

a lifetime. I’ve kept her

breathing in my ear, year

after year, all these years.

I’ve loved others dearly,

some more deeply,

but not with all my heart.

Peter Serchuk has had recent work appear in Boulevard, New Plains Review, and Naugatuck River Review. In addition, his new collection of poems, All That Remains, is forthcoming from WordTech Editions.
