Valparaiso University offers a comprehensive, lifelong career development program for undergraduate and graduate students.

Career Center

The Career Center encourages students to begin their career exploration process early.

Located in Harre Union, the Center offers a career resource library, workshop and interview spaces, career counseling appointments, and drop-in advising hours. Intranet resources for students include job listings and an internship database.

Our career counselors help students discover their path and build career skills by offering services such as workshops, career counseling, job search support, resume and cover letter critique, and a mock interview program.

The Career Center sponsors and hosts regular events that bring students and employers together, including regular on-campus career fairs and interviews with employers, career-specific panel discussions and networking events, and the Annual Networking Reception and Etiquette dinner.

A dedicated Law School Career Planning Center assists law students with all aspects of career development.

Real-World Experience

Experiential, hands-on learning is an integral part of each student’s preparation for life and work.

Internships and Cooperative Education positions provide excellent opportunities to learn by direct experience under the supervision of a professional. An abundance of such opportunities have been established throughout the University. Students receive internship support from the Career Center and within their departments.
