A great way to connect at Valparaiso University is through athletics and recreation. Whether you choose to participate in Division I athletics, try your skills on a recreational sports team, or join a weekly fitness class, Valpo offers a variety of activities that will strengthen your body and relax your mind.

Valpo has 19 Division I teams, offering plenty of excitement for sports lovers. Valpo Athletes are students first, reflecting the University’s passion for commitment and success.

Even if you are not a student-athlete at Valpo, you can be part of Division I athletics by cheering on your Crusaders! Students are admitted free to all sporting events and can even earn prizes for coming to games, sponsored by ValparaiZone.

Club Sports and Intramural Sports at Valpo are other great ways to get involved in campus life. Valpo has club teams in men’s and women’s Ultimate Frisbee, men’s and women’s soccer, badminton, and tennis. Intramurals offer men’s, women’s, and coed tournaments in individual and team sports, providing a great way to stay fit and meet new friends!

The Athletics-Recreation Center (ARC) and Fitness Center offer ways for students to participate according to their own interests and schedule. Students can shoot baskets, play volleyball, run the track, take a swim, and so much more at Valpo’s ARC. The Fitness Center offers ample space and equipment for weight training, cardiovascular workouts, and fitness classes taught by the Recreational Sports staff.
