How would you like to visit
Valparaiso University?

Personal Visit

High School Seniors, your personal visit includes:

  • 1 hour walking tour of campus, led by a current Valpo student
  • Meeting with an Admission Counselor
  • One appointment with a faculty member in your primary academic interest area*

*Please note: Classes are not in session during our breaks and are limited during the summer, so a faculty appointment is likely unavailable at these times. If this is an important aspect of your visit to campus, you may want to choose a date when classes are in session (the Fall Semester begins the end of August).

Choosing a date less than two weeks away can make it difficult for us to schedule a faculty appointment. A finalized schedule will be emailed to you before your visit.

Overnight Visit

In addition to your Personal Visit, stay overnight with an Overnight Student Ambassador in an on-campus residence hall . Enjoy dinner and breakfast in our dining hall. On day two you will have a campus tour, information session, and faculty appointment.

2018 Overnight-Shadow Days

(Closed for the Year)
Overnight-Shadow Days provide admitted students a residential life and class experience all in one visit. In the evening on day one, you’ll stay over with an Overnight Student Ambassador, sleeping in a first-year residence hall to experience a freshman living community. On the morning of day two, you will attend class, meetings, and/or other current student activities with your shadow host. Your visit will also include an information session with an admission counselor and one professor appointment in your academic major; a campus tour is optional. Opportunities will open up in Fall 2018 for our 2019 admitted students.

2018 Admitted Student Days

(Closed for the Year)
This visit is designed to give you a more in-depth feel for what students experience at Valparaiso University. The program begins with an overnight experience with an Overnight Student Ambassador. The next day offers an introduction to your academic college with specific major sessions for students, lunch with current students, financial aid and admission next steps, campus resource sessions, and options to talk with various office representatives; parents also have sessions on day two.  Registration closes 10 days before the event.

*If you do not wish to spend Sunday night, simply sign up for Admitted Student Day and then text us to opt out of the overnight at 219-240-0526.

Scheduling A
Personal Visit?

It's best to look at dates two weeks in advance so we can schedule a visit that suits your needs; less than two weeks could mean the date and time you desire is already filled to capacity, and that a faculty member is not available to meet with you.
