Membership

The opportunity to truly appreciate art is a gift. To stand before works by some of the world’s greatest painters, sculptors, and photographers touches something deeply spiritual in one’s soul.

Your membership to the Brauer Museum of Art means you are partnering with us to further our mission of promoting an appreciation of and an education about the value of art to our community and our world. It provides educational materials for teachers, docent-guided visits for area students, sponsors annual student art competitions, and expands knowledge of the fine arts through our gallery talks, special events, lectures, and symposia with scholars.

Because no fee is charged to the public to view the extraordinary works in our collection, we rely on visit donations and annual memberships from individual donors and corporations to maintain our budget for programming, acquisitions, and outreach. Thank you for your support.

Please enjoy this virtual tour of the Brauer Museum of Art’s fall 2017 exhibitions: The Indiana Dunes Revisited: Frank V. Dudley and the 1917 Dunes Pageant; Now, Then, and Again: The Art of Douglas Calisch; and Old Master Prints from a Private Collection.  This virtual tour is courtesy of Matterport, Roughland LLC, and Dan Lindquist ’08, ’11 and Ashley (Grimshaw) Lindquist, ’08.

“It has truly been a gift to cultivate friendships with Gregg and Gloria over the years. The opportunity to share the Brauer Museum through Matterport technology is something that we are very excited about. We hope that everyone enjoys the chance to ‘walk’ around the museum and view some of the permanent collection as well as the shows from the Fall 2017 semester. The Brauer holds a special place in our hearts; the various collections are world-class, the collaborations between classes and exhibitions are enlightening for students, and the materials published alongside gallery shows enhance the experience of viewing art in an open and approachable way. It is truly one of Valparaiso University’s greatest treasures.”
