Position: Human Resources Administrator/Payroll Clerk-Entry Level
Location: Hammond, IN 46320
Status: Part-Time or Full-Time

Code Red Safety is looking for a HR Admin/Payroll Clerk at our Corporate Office located in Hammond, IN. This is an entry level role for someone who is starting out in HR or who is in the process of obtaining a degree in HR. This individual provides administrative support to one or more human resources functions, including: Recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, equal employment opportunity, and/or employee records. 
May perform a variety of duties to include:
PAYROLL Support

  • Review Field Service time entered in ADP Workforce Now against the JOW
  • Periodically audit other hourly personnel time entered in ADP Workforce Now
  • Investigate questions regarding incorrect pay or deductions
  • Back-up to disseminate checks and reports

GENERAL HR ADMINISTRATION Support

  • Coordinate the collection of all New Hire Paperwork
  • Process VOE phone calls (per Company policy)
  • Complete wage and employment VOE’s for HRG
  • Maintain I9 Files (paper and electronic)
  • Act as back-up for benefits when needed
  • Support for payroll & HR audits
  • Serve on Holiday events committee 
  • Maintains personnel files and status changes on all employees.
  • Reconciles and prepares payment of all benefits invoices.
  • Assures proper authorization of payroll actions
  • Support Open Enrollment process
  • Coordinating the reference check, drug test program and onboarding process
  • Providing orientation for new hires – Hammond / Corporate office
  • Sourcing candidates (e.g. Monster) for open positions.
  • Coordinating in-house interviews for Hiring Manager
  • Process and review employment applications (CAT’s) to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants
  • Maintain the Applicant Tracking database
  • Post job vacancies
  • May assist in the preparation of reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities
