Pam Sieving completed an M.A. in English Literature and Linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1971, and an M.S. in library science at Southern Connecticut State University in 1974.  She is accredited at the ‘distinguished’ level in the Academy of Health Information Professionals. Since 1986, she has focused on information resources and services in ophthalmology and vision research, as Director of Library Services at the University of Michigan’s department of ophthalmology and visual sciences, 1986-2001, then as Informationist to the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health until 2014.  Pam retired from federal service at the end of 2014, but continues work on several international projects, particularly with several providing needed information resources at eye centers in developing countries.  She is active in the American Library Association, the Medical Library Association, and the Association of Vision Science Librarians.  For many years she was active in Valpo Guild chapters and served as national vice president for two years.  She is married to Paul A. Sieving, ’70; they were ‘pioneers’ at the Reutlingen center in 1968. Sons Ted and Matt are both attorneys in California, Ted at Work Evolution Labs as well as co-founder of xNovo Legal in Long Beach, Matt with Bloom Energy in Sunnyvale; daughter-in-law Lia Izenberg is executive director of OneGoal’s Bay Area office.
