Ben Schnakenberg is a managing director on the private equity team at Bow River Capital, a Denver-based multi-strategy alternative asset management firm with more than $2 billion of assets under management, where he focuses on control investments in middle market, human capital-based businesses. Ben graduated from Valpo with a B.A. in political science and English in 2000 and from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA in finance in 2009. Ben is a CFA Charterholder. Prior to joining Bow River Capital, Ben spent 14 years at High Road Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm, where he served as a partner. He previously served as a senior vice president at LaSalle Bank (now part of Bank of America), where he served for three years as the chief of staff to LaSalle’s CEO and where he spent three years in middle-market commercial banking. Ben also spent two years at Madison Capital Funding, providing senior and subordinated debt financing and equity co-investments for leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations of middle-market companies. Ben and his family live in Denver, Colorado, where he enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time in the Rocky Mountains.
