Hands-on Experience

One hallmark of Valpo’s MBA program is the breadth of hands-on learning opportunities provided both inside and outside of the classroom. Students work as consultants on real projects with real employers based in Northwest Indiana, Chicago, across the United States and worldwide.

In class, tenured and adjunct faculty provide experience in analyzing data, making financial projections, and developing sustainable strategies. Students develop skills while seeing their projects through from concept to completion. At the end of the project, students present their research to their real client.

Some students seek out individualized experiences to utilize their new skills. This may be with one of the Valpo MBA’s established partners from the community or with a business the student identifies. Students who are professionals occasionally take on special projects for their employer.

Businesses know that when a Valpo MBA works on their project, the results will be reputable. Often students experience an assignment that leads to a job opportunity.
