Biography

Jamie Stangel began teaching at Valparaiso University in the Fall of 2013 as a Visiting Professor. In her time at Valparaiso she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the Sport Management and Sport Administration programs, including Coaching Theory, Coaching Techniques, Theory and Principles is Sport Management, Sport Governance, Sport Marketing and Promotions, Sport Finance, Sport Psychology, Sport and Society, Research Methods in Sport, and Adaptive Physical Education.

Professor Stangel returned to Valparaiso University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Sport Communications in 2006 while playing guard on the Crusaders Women’s Basketball team. She earned her master’s degree in Sport Administration from Valparaiso University while serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball team. After several positions in college athletics, Professor Stangel went back to school to earn her Ph.D in Sport Leadership and Administration from Concordia University in Chicago.

Professor Stangel and her husband Brad reside in Valparaiso with their three daughters Addison, Anna, and Amelia.
