Biography
Professor Samis-Smith joined the College of Nursing and Health Professions faculty in 2017 and teaches in the undergraduate healthcare leadership program. She holds a master’s degree in clinical exercise physiology from Indiana University, in addition to a master’s degree in sports management from Valparaiso University. She completed her doctorate in health education from A.T. Still University. Professor Samis-Smith was previously an adjunct professor at Prairie State College where she taught fitness and exercise. She was also a community outreach specialist in the healthcare industry. Professor Samis-Smith has an enthusiasm for exercise, which includes being a licensed high school soccer official.
