Information for Graduates

Please refer to the different sections below for detailed information regarding the respective subject. This information and additional updates will be sent out in emails as well. So, please remain updated with any email communications from the university. Information/details are subject to change in light of COVID-19 regulations.

  • Graduate tickets will NOT be required.
  • Each graduate will be allotted FOUR guest tickets. 
  • Tickets can be claimed up until the day of the commencement.
  • Tickets are NOT transferable between graduates or ceremonies. 
  • Tickets will be required to enter the event venue and will become void after scanned for entry.
  • All guests, regardless of age are required to have a ticket to enter the event venue.
  • Graduates must secure electronic tickets for guests through Marching Order. Tickets can be emailed to guests or printed.
  • Guest contact information will be collected for each ticket distributed.
  • Guest information can be changed up to the day of the commencement ceremony. Also, tickets can be claimed up to the day of commencement.
  • All ceremonies will be live streamed for guests who are unable to attend. Please direct guests attending virtually to the commencement home page. There is a button on the homepage that links to the live webcast.

Cap and gown orders are submitted when you fill out your graduation application on DataVU

  • Payment
    Payment can be made in the form of Cash, Check (payable to University Book Center), Major Credit Card, or Crusader Cash. Visit the Bookstore online for information about regalia pricing. Payment is due upon pick-up in the University Bookstore.
  • Honor Cords
    Honor cords are distributed through individual departments. Cords are not ordered through the University Bookstore. Please contact your department admin for information on departmental honor cords.

Please try on your gown immediately after picking it up and contact the Bookstore if there are any sizing problems.

  • Graduates have the option to attend commencement in-person OR virtually.
    • This choice is left up to the graduate and there is nothing special you need to do depending on your decision to attend.

  • Electronic tickets will be available to graduates starting April 6th.
  • Logistics regarding obtaining the tickets will be communicated at a later date. 
  • All ceremonies will be live streamed for guests who are unable to attend. Please direct guests attending virtually to the commencement home page. There is a button on the homepage that links to the live webcast.

  • Graduates and their guests are invited to explore campus for photo opportunities.
    • Please remain distanced and masked while on campus.

  • We are unable to release diplomas to graduates with any outstanding obligations to the University. Please resolve any outstanding obligations with the applicable offices before graduation.
