This document seeks to answer many of the frequently asked questions related to the Valparaiso University Postponed Commencement Ceremony, but if you have any additional questions, feel free to email commencement@valpo.edu

Ceremony Questions:

  1. When will the rescheduled 2020 Commencement take place? Is there a timetable?
    • At this time, there is no timetable for the rescheduling of Commencement due to the uncertainty created by COVID-19. The University is committed to hosting a ceremony in person for the Class of 2020, when it is safe to do so and we are able to host on campus. We will be scheduling a Commencement ceremony in the future, and the University will communicate to students’ Valpo email addresses as soon as a date is scheduled.
    • Details related to other traditional events that take place during Commencement weekend such as individual college recognitions, Baccalaureate service, and other similar events will be communicated once the ceremony is rescheduled.
  2. How many tickets will be allocated for the rescheduled Commencement ceremony?
    • The ticketing procedure for the rescheduled Commencement ceremony will be communicated to students at the appropriate time through University email.
  3.   Is the University doing some kind of virtual event?
    • At this time, the University is not planning a virtual event. The University is instead concentrating on rescheduling the in-person Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020.
    • In the meantime, we would love to share in your celebration so please email your picture to imc@valpo.edu to include on social media and use #ValpoGrad2020.
