Dear Faculty and Staff,

In this ever-changing landscape, I have deeply appreciated your continued support and understanding as we navigate a path for Valparaiso University.

We have heard feedback and questions regarding the University’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Protocol for Continuity of Operations and Employee Security scheduled to expire on Monday, April 13, 2020. As we communicated Friday evening, Governor Holcomb’s extension of Indiana’s stay-at-home executive order, has been extended through Monday, April 20, 2020.

The University’s Executive Management Council is meeting daily to evaluate various scenarios and possible avenues available for next steps, and we will share additional information with you by Monday, April 13, 2020.

Please know I am grateful to each and every one of you for the tremendous work you are putting forth in this challenging time, and I appreciate your patience and grace during this time.

Sincerely,

David Phelps
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
