“For me, studying Chinese history, language and culture has been a life changing experience that has expanded my perspective and worldview in a way that allows me think critically about current events during this era of ever expanding globalization. But even the casual learner or someone simply trying to fill a course requirement will find Chinese studies to be a fascinating and refreshing change from the typical academic course load. Valparaiso University has assembled an incredible faculty of brilliant, kind and patient educators in this field who have worked together to make each course an interdisciplinary and truly immersive experience. So, if you are someone curious about other cultures, trying to make yourself a more marketable employee after graduation, or just looking for something new to learn about, I would highly recommend enrolling in one of the many courses related to Chinese studies.” – Neil Wichlinsky ‘16
