What are you hoping to accomplish and or offer to GSAC?
My goal is to continue to build on the connections that have been created and to help develop new connections with the graduate students here at Valparaiso University. By listening to the student body and building meaningful opportunities for students to network with other graduate students, staff and faculty, I am hopeful to help bring fresh ideas to Valparaiso University.

What are three expectations that you have of this council?

  • Maintain the level of integrity instilled within the graduate programs here at Valparaiso University.
  • Continue building meaningful connections among the student body, staff and faculty so everybody’s voice is heard and all feel included.
  • Create opportunities for student and staff involvement, taking into consideration requests and concerns that have been shared.

How do you plan to represent graduate students on GSAC?
In my experience, sometimes the hardest part can be just showing up. I plan to help promote participation in community events with in-person discussion, social media sharing, etc. At the events, I will be made available to help navigate questions and concerns as well as helping students network with others in the community.

What led to your decision to become a graduate student at Valpo?
Valparaiso University has a reputation that precedes itself, and in my program has lots of success in its field. Upon attending my interviews, the atmosphere of the school solidified my drive to want to attend Valparaiso University for my graduate studies. The community is what sold me.

What is one interesting fact about yourself?
I have self-published two books of poetry: Come Down (2020) and Rise Up (2022).

What is your favorite food?
A favorite food of mine would have to be tacos. Absolutely any kind of taco: Ricochet Tacos, in town, has some pretty incredible options to explore.
