Professor Kevin Ostoyich introduced the Engage, Explore, and Express Workshop to campus in 2016 to introduce students to the process of research. The workshop is intended to help students get involved and ask questions about the world around them.

Since Academic year 2017-2018, the Engage, Express, and Explore Workshop has become a featured event within Valpo’s First Year Core.
Professor Kevin Ostoyich incorporated many primary documents pertaining to the life of former Shanghai Jewish refugee and Caesar’s Palace blackjack dealer, Gary Sternberg, in the Engage, Explore, and Express Workshop.
