Homecoming 2021

General Information

Registration Information

Registration Fee
The non-refundable $10 registration fee helps to cover the overhead costs of Homecoming 2021, including your name badge/event tickets, furniture rental, staffing, postage, and printing. Over 50 Valparaiso University staff make every effort to make sure your weekend runs as smoothly as possible. The University greatly subsidizes Homecoming & Reunion Weekend in an attempt to make it affordable for all guests. Guests 12 & under will not incur a registration fee.

On-Site Registration Restrictions
Registration on site is strongly discouraged and may be prohibited, as events often fill to capacity well before the weekend. Guests who register on site will incur an additional charge of $5 per person for each event. In an effort to be good stewards of our resources and eliminate food waste, no refunds will be issued for cancellations for dinners and other events with a fee. Thank you for understanding.

Check-In Procedures and Hours

After you formally register for Homecoming via the website, you will receive a confirmation email that lists your event itinerary and serves as a receipt.

When you come to campus, please visit us under the express “Homecoming Check-In” sign near the Harre Union Welcome Desk that corresponds with the first letter of your last name to check in and receive your name badge. This name badge serves as your ticket to the events for which you have registered, so be sure to wear it all weekend! Your badge will also display a QR code that will be used to scan you into events you attend.

Should you wish to add an event to your itinerary, please visit us under the “Homecoming Check-In Assistance” sign and we will register you as we are able.

Check-in hours are:
Friday:10:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Health and Safety Protocols

Valparaiso University is committed to maintaining campus health and safety as we navigate a global pandemic. As we plan for fall operations and in-person instruction, we are looking to the guidance of local and national health experts so that we can begin a return to normalcy for students, faculty, and staff starting in August 2021.

In order to provide the safest, yet least restrictive, experience, Valparaiso University required every full- and part-time faculty and staff member to complete a COVID-19 vaccination program by Aug. 1, 2021. All Valpo students are also required to complete a COVID-19 vaccination program before coming to campus this fall.

The most up-to-date information regarding the University’s COVID-19 safety protocols will be shared at valpo.edu/looking-forward/campus-messages.

Parking is limited in the center of campus. We recommend that you park once and utilize the golf cart and shuttle transportation as needed. Please note that restrictions on parking designations for commuters, staff, and residents are lifted during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, with the exception of lot 13, which is reserved for University staff and handicap accessible (ADA) parking at all times.

For events in the Harre Union, including check-in, bus tours, the VUAA Alumni Awards Dinner, the Classes of 1970 & 1971 and Brown & Gold Club Dinner, and the President’s Circle Honors Breakfast for Donors and Scholars, we recommend parking in lots 14 and 15. Limited ADA parking is also available in lot 13.

For events in the Chapel and the Christopher Center, we recommend parking in lots 14, 15, and 20. Limited ADA parking is also available in lot 13.

For events in or near the Athletics and Recreation Center (ARC) and Brown Field, we recommend parking in lots 45, 34, 35, and 15. Limited ADA parking is available in lot 45.

For events in the Gellersen and Fites Centers, the Center for the Sciences, and Meier Hall, we recommend parking in lots 1 and 2. Very limited ADA parking is available in the quad area between the Center for the Arts and Schnabel Hall.

Please see the campus parking map and signage for lot numbers and directions.
