Jacob Sitati is a Lecturer in the International Studies Department, Program Director in the International Commerce and Policy Degree Program and a member of the Presidential Commission for an Inclusive Valparaiso Community.
Before Valparaiso, he served as the Managing Principal of Maurice + Fischer, an international legal consulting, market entry strategy, and advocacy firm. The firm focuses on emerging markets in the Africa region and is based in Chicago Illinois with affiliate partnerships in Nairobi and Johannesburg. He has previously served in various capacities in the legal field while working at various boutique Labor and Employment law firms and the Insurance Industry in Chicago and the greater Chicago Metropolitan area.
In addition to teaching at Valparaiso, Jacob is a Visiting Lecturer at Strathmore Law School in Nairobi, Kenya, and during the summer breaks Jacob continues to work as a legal consultant at Maurice and Fischer. He is a member of ROTARY/One Cosmopolitan Club in Chicago, and a Presidential Circle member and Emerging Leader Fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
Jacob has a background in Economics and Political Science, Information Technology and Privacy Law and International Commerce and Policy from Hope College, John Marshall Law School, and Valparaiso University respectively.
