Exercise Science, Sports Management & Sports Administration/J.D. Law Majors
An opportunity for students to gain practical experience under careful supervision by working in university programs or offices, public agencies or businesses, sport clubs, sports medicine clinics, community or adult fitness programs, high school, media and communications, programs for the elderly, athletic administration, intramural and facility management, or other appropriate work experiences. Objectives and evaluation procedure for the conduct of the internship are jointly planned by the student, the instructor, and the program supervisor.

Phi Epsilon Kappa – Delta Lambda Chapter
Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity: A national professional fraternity serving men and women in the fields of health, physical education, and recreation.
Phi Epsilon Kappa (PEK) Fraternity is a national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in health, physical education, recreation, or safety. Membership is open to all persons interested in the purposes of the Fraternity and in providing their time and energies for the benefit of health education, physical education, recreation education, and safety education.
PEK fosters scientific research and facilitates the exchange of information and experience gained in the various countries of the world concerning matters of the interdependent areas of health, recreation, safety, physical education, and related areas, including programs, methods, techniques, material, training, and research. Members of PEK promote sound community understanding leading to adequate support of educational programs and can contribute to the advancement of health, safety, recreation, physical education, and related areas.
History
The Delta Lambda Chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa was installed at Valparaiso University on April 15, 1993. A dedicated group of 22 physical education majors were initiated as the Charter Members, the Chapter was installed, and a reception in their honor was sponsored by the physical education department.
On April 28, 1994, eight physical education majors were inducted into the Fraternity in the first initiation ceremony sponsored totally by the Valpo chapter.
Phi Epsilon Kappa sponsors speakers, conference attendance, and educational and social events and promotes the discipline of physical education on campus, in the community, and throughout the nation.
It is truly an honor to be selected for membership in Phi Epsilon Kappa. Requirements for nomination include: 12 credits of physical education taken at Valpo; a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above; and a GPA in the major area of 3.0 or above
