ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION AND ADMINISTRATION AND ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF LAW
Professor Howard received his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While still a law student, Professor Howard worked as a teaching assistant in the University of Pittsburgh’s Mellon Research and Writing Program; was awarded the Robert D. Raven Award for Academic Excellence; and eventually proposed, designed and assisted with implementing the school’s first pre-bar review course. After graduating from law school, Professor Howard worked for the internationally regarded firm of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, LLP, in Pittsburgh, PA. He practiced for 11 years in such areas of the law as environmental insurance coverage litigation and class action litigation before forming and becoming a partner of Howard & Hosay Law Group, P.C. in Philadelphia, PA. In 2008, Professor Howard joined the Appalachian School of Law’s faculty. He designed and implemented the school’s first distance learning course and served as the Director of ASL’s Externship Programs from 2011 to 2015. Professor Howard became ASL’s first Assistant Dean for Student Services in 2014. In July of 2015, Professor Howard joined the faculty of Valparaiso University School of Law as its Director of Externship Programs.
