Summer 2013 Non-Judicial Extern Orientation

Leaders in Law Photos

The CPC has scheduled a series of opportunities for students to have their photos taken for the Leaders In Law Board. All students who have secured law related experiential opportunities for the summer or after graduation are eligible to be included on the board.  This includes externships, SPIS placements, and law clerk positions in the private sector. 3L’s who have secured post graduate full-time employment are also welcome and encouraged to have their photos taken. Please come dressed in professional business attire. Photos will be taken on the following days, Wednesday, May 1 at 11:30 a.m., in the Heritage Courtroom; and May 2 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Spring Externship Final Reports – due Thurs. May 2 by 5:00 p.m. – Submit in Westlaw’s TWEN

  1. Remaining time log
  2. Final journal
  3. Work product
  4. Field Supervisor’s Final Evaluation – Ask Field Supervisor to return forms to you for TWEN submission with all your final reports.
  5. Part I Student Evaluations of your Externship/Field Supervisor and Faculty Supervisor/Director
  6. Non-Judicial Final Analysis/Reflection – This entry should be at least one page in length as a separate Word document. Draw the entire experience to a close taking time to reflect on what was gained through the semester’s externship. Reflect on your learning objective and whether you were able to achieve those items.
  7. State Judicial Final Paper – The paper should be 3-5 pages, double-spaced and may be shared with future externs interested in working with a specific employer.
