The International Law Society (ILS) is a student division of the International Law Students Association (ILSA) and was created with the goal to encourage communication among students and lawyers from different parts of the world in an effort to promote international understanding and cooperation related to the development and promotion of international law, study, and practice.
Within the last 20 years alone, major developments in trade and communication have resulted in the need for lawyers to become more globally focused in order to best serve their clients. Additionally, recent policy changes and new relationships with foreign nations and corporations demand today’s attorney to understand law on an international level as well as on a domestic level.
