Exploding Prison Population and Drug Offenders: Rethinking State Drug Sentencing Conference

November 9,  9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Wesemann Hall

Long-term sentences for low-level drug offenders have contributed to the exponential growth in many states’ prison populations. Valparaiso University law professors have organized this dynamic conference, which will bring together scholars, practitioners, judges and legislators to kick off a comprehensive review of state drug sentencing laws in the expectation that follow-up initiatives will generate ideas for substantive reform.
