Valpo Law Student Organizations Raise $7,488 For Charities

During the 2012-2013 academic year, student organizations of the Law School made significant contributions in order to help improve the lives of others. By raising $15,488 in monetary contributions as well as through donating hours of hard work and support, the student organizations’ impact was large.

For example, Phi Alpha Delta, ensured local children have shoes to wear through the TOMS Project. The Property Law Society helped raise money for the local Housing Opportunities charity.  The Student Bar Association helped improve the home lives of women and children by supporting The Caring Place. The Running Club gave support to those going through extreme hardship by contributing to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the American Red Cross.

The impact was not just limited to these human charities, but the law school organizations supported animals as well. The Business Law Society helped raise money for the Lakeshore Paws organization, which helps to find homes for abandoned animals. The Military Veterans Law Association lent its support to the Pets For Vets program, to help improve the quality of life for not only pets, but also for American Veterans.

Finally, this spring the Equal Justice Alliance raised $373 from various fundraisers to help fund awards Public Interest Grants.

The Student Bar Association and the organizations of Valparaiso University Law looks forward to continuing this good work into the next school year.
