Valpo in Washington, DC: The Lutheran College Washington Semester

Valpo students can study in the fall, spring, or summer in Washington, DC at the Lutheran College Washington Semester. Students participate in a 4 day a week internship and take two LCWS classes. LCWS will help you find a fall/spring internship, and you earn 15 Valpo credit hours for the semester.

Contrary to popular belief, DC isn’t just about politics and you don’t need to be a Political Science major to apply to LCWS; we can accommodate almost any major. LCWS has welcomed Valpo students from History, IECA, Communications, Sociology/Criminology, Political Science, and Humanities – just to name a few! LCWS students have interned in almost every field – from agriculture to zoology (and everything in between). Valpo LCWS students have interned at the State Department, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, CNN, Sirius XM Radio, the US Marshals Service, the DNC & RNC, as well as think tanks, advocacy groups, and faith-based organizations.
