Lesley Padilla

Lesley Padilla (she/her/hers) OMP Social Work Intern lesley.padilla@valpo.edu

Lesley is a senior Social Work major. She is graduating in May 2023. She is a member of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Incorporated here at Valpo which is the only multicultural sorority on campus. She is also the Lead Resident Assistant for Beacon Hall and helps students living in residence halls feel at home. Lesley also served as an Orientation Assistant, through which she has helped many first year students feel welcomed at Valpo. She is also a member of Latinx in Valparaiso for Excellence!

She enjoys working at the OMP because she loves how diverse the staff is. She also loves how much of a voice she has as a student. She is able to serve on university committees and offer the student perspective. OMP offers students a voice which she appreciates. 

Once Lesley graduates with her undergraduate degree, she wants to go to graduate school for Student Affairs/ Higher Education. This is because when she became an RA , she discovered her passion for student affairs and helping other college students. 

Lesley’s most impressive and relevant achievements:

  • Being president of SLG helped her form into the leader I am today. She also learned many skills such as delegation, communication, and administrative tasks.
  •  Being the Lead Resident Assistant has helped her see how she can be a support for other RAs and residents.

One quirky fact about Lesley

She has been on multiple billboards across the Chicagoland area.
