Professor, Graphic Narrative Scholar to Visit Valpo for Wordfest on Oct. 22

WHO: Kate Polak, Ph.D., assistant professor of English at Wittenberg University, to visit Valparaiso University as part of the English department’s “Wordfest” series.

WHAT: As part of the Wordfest writers’ series, Kate Polak will be giving a talk titled “Vertiginous Times: The Historical Fiction of DC’s Vertigo Imprint.” Polak’s research interests focus on violence in literature and other media, along with study in comics and graphic narratives. She is the author of a book on comics called “Ethics in the Gutter: Empathy and Historical Fiction in Comics” published in 2017.

All Wordfest events event are free and open to the public.
