Valpo Hosts Annual Tree Lighting Nov. 30

WHAT: Valparaiso University’s eighth annual Tree Lighting offers an opportunity for members of the community to see Santa, take pictures with friends in the photo booth, enjoy refreshments and caroling, and count down to the tree being lit, with fireworks to conclude the night.

The Jingle Jog, a 1-,2-, or 3- mile run/walk, will take place before the tree lighting. Participants should bring a toy or nonperishable food item as their registration fee. All donations will go to local families.

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 30, 5:30–7 p.m. Santa begins at 4:30 p.m., the Jingle Jog begins at 5 p.m., and the tree will be lit at 6 p.m.

WHERE: Santa and refreshments will be in the Harre Union, and the tree will be located outside, between the Harre Union and the Christopher Center for Library and Information Resources.
