Valpo Recognized Among Most Transfer Friendly Schools in the Nation

March 3, 2021Valparaiso, Indiana – Valparaiso University has been named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Transfer Honor Roll for the second consecutive year. The designation recognizes excellence in the development and support of dynamic and innovative transfer pathways for community college transfer students. Valpo is among 150 colleges and universities named to the 2021 Transfer Honor Roll, only two of which are in Indiana.

The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Roll distinction indicates that Valpo was selected as being among the most transfer friendly schools in the nation, determined by admission practices, cost of attendance, campus life, and recruitment practices.

“At Valparaiso University we pride ourselves on taking care of each transfer student and working with them individually,” said Carrie Palkovich, M.S., director of transfer enrollment. “We have students transferring into all five of our colleges, including Christ College — The Honors College. The variety and caliber of transfer students that we bring into the University community helps to enrich the classroom experience for all Valpo students.”

Students transfer from both two-year and four-year institutions, including traditional college age students, non-traditional and military students. Each transfer student receives attention and care from the transfer admission team and valuable information from their future advisor as a prospective student.

In addition to an attention and care-based approach to transfer admissions, Valpo also offers robust transfer scholarships, making attendance affordable for students and competitive with other universities.

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them grow as scholars and leaders. The Society is made up of more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 11 nations, with approximately 240,000 active members in the nation’s colleges.
