Valparaiso University Ranked Among Best in the Nation

Sept. 12, 2022 – Valparaiso, Indiana – Valparaiso University continues its amazing, three-decades long legacy of being recognized as one of the best choices in higher education by U.S. News & World Report. In the 2022-2023 Best Colleges rankings, Valpo has been named number 176 out of 440 of the most elite public and private institutions in the nation. 

In addition to the impressive placement in overall ranking, Valpo’s College of Engineering is ranked no. 15 Best Undergraduate Engineering Program in the nation. Other honors for Valpo programs include making the Best Undergraduate Business,  Best Undergraduate Computer Science, and Best Undergraduate Nursing lists. 

The College of Engineering has made great strides in living Valparaiso University’s values of learning, service and leadership as outlined in the new strategic plan, Uplift Valpo. With the assistance of the Kern Family Foundation, the College has been instrumental in opening exciting new pathways for student research, while its work in promoting a diverse, inclusive atmosphere has earned the College recognition from the American Society for Engineering Education. 

Likewise, the College of Nursing and Health Professions has added new programs in recent years to prepare both students and professionals already in the field to face new and evolving challenges in the health care field. These programs include the certificate in health care administration and the master of science in physician assistant studies. 

In addition to offering amazing programs, Valparaiso University has also been recognized as one of the top 50 best value institutions in the nation. With a placement rate over 95%, Valpo continues to show a strong return on investment. Valpo graduates have found positions across the state and around the world, including prestigious Orr Fellow, Rangel Fellow, and Fulbright placements. 

Valparaiso University also made the U.S. News rankings for Top Performer on Social Mobility and A+ Schools for B Students.
