Valparaiso University has announced that Linda J. Roettger will join the University as the Director of Alumni Relations. Roettger is a Valpo alum, having graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In her role Roettger will focus on increasing opportunities for alumni engagement and on enhancing and expanding alumni programs to help support the University’s Advancement goals.

“I am thrilled to welcome Linda back to Valpo as a member of our Advancement leadership team,” said University President Mark Heckler. “In addition to being a Valpo grad and actively engaged with the University already, she has strong marketing and leadership skills that will help us generate increased alumni support for advancement opportunities and development programs and activities.”

Roettger has long been involved with the University. Prior to her appointment, Roettger served as a member of the National Council for the College of Arts & Sciences and has participated in alumni events and activities for many years.

“Linda has combined her academic and professional career to make significant contributions to the Valpo community over the years,” said Tom Madden, chair of the Valparaiso University Alumni Association. “Her active involvement as an alumna has ensured her familiarity with both the opportunities and challenges in this area and she has a clear understanding of the University’s strategic objectives and vision for alumni relations. We are all excited about her return to campus.”

Roettger returns to Valpo after serving as the Director of Global Industry Marketing for Agilent Technologies for the past six years. She has held a variety of senior marketing positions for companies including Thermo Electron Corporation and Millipore Corporation.
