About the Program
Valparaiso University’s online Master of Science in Cyber Security (MSCYB) provides the practical, technical training you need to combat evolving digital threats.
Developed based on years of NSA staff input, the program is designed to arm you with skills that are of highest priority to employers, preparing you to seamlessly enter the workforce and outpace hackers around the globe.
Throughout the program, you’ll work to develop your abilities in:

You’ll also have access to our virtualization facility, a unique asset that allows you and other VU students to model and operate within thousands of security scenarios and exercises. This complex and diverse array of computing environments effectively simulates the real world challenges of complex modern institutions. Your coursework will use this unique resource as a hands-on laboratory for black-hat, grey-hat, and white-hat exercises to illustrate classroom concepts and strategies. This practical experience will develop the skills you and employers need and expect in a live, dynamic setting.
Students will also complete a practical internship and receive real-world experience, or pursue an independent research project.
