Biography

Claudine Ruzga joined the faculty of the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies Program in January of 2021 after two years of teaching part-time with the program as a guest lecturer and as an adjunct instructor. She has been certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since October 1998.

She attended the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse-Gundersen Clinic-Mayo Clinic Physician Assistant Program. She has worked in Emergency Medicine in Wisconsin and Indiana since graduation over 20 years ago. She has been an active preceptor for many Physician Assistant Programs over the past seven years.

Her expertise is in emergency medicine and trauma care. She has led the education for care of sexual assault and pediatric sexual assault victims in Northwest Indiana for the past 12 years. She has also served on the Lake County Sexual Assault Committee and the Lake County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee.

Professor Ruzga continues to work at a local emergency department and urgent care providing care to the Northwest Indiana residents.
