Professor Hora hails from the only state to feature cheese on its state quarter.  She attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before traveling south to North Carolina.  While at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she earned her Masters and Ph.D. in political science as well as a new appreciation for college basketball.  She has taught at Valparaiso since fall 2006.  Dr. Hora teaches courses in American politics, the presidency, Congress, public policy, public administration and state and local government.  Her current research focuses on an analysis of persuasive communications found in the tape-recorded conversations of Presidents Nixon and Johnson.
