About

Ata Karbasi is an Assistant Professor of Information and Decision Sciences in the College of Business at Valparaiso University. He earned his Ph.D. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Georgia Southern University. Professor Karbasi teaches courses in operations and supply chain management, logistics strategy, enterprise resource planning, and business analytics. As an SAP-certified associate, he also leads the SAP University Alliances program, helping students gain hands-on experience with enterprise systems.
Ata Karbasi’s research focuses on operations strategy, competitive dynamics, airline operations, and big data & analytics. His work has been published in the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, Business Process Management Journal, and Management Teaching Review, among others.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute and is an active member of the Decision Sciences Institute and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
