After a review of candidates applications and case study responses, applicants who we feel will be successful RA candidates will be offered the opportunity to interview with members of the Residential Learning Coordinator team. Should a candidate be invited to participate in the individual interview, candidates are interviewed on an individual basis by a panel of current Residential Learning Coordinators. During this interview, candidates will be asked a variety of questions assessing their knowledge of the Resident Assistant position and the skills and abilities each candidate possesses. There will be anywhere from one to three Residential Learning Coordinators present, please be prepared to speak with a small group of current professional staff members during the interview.
If offered an interview you will be e-mailed and asked to come to the Office of Residential Life, Harre Suite 250, with your schedule to sign up for a 30-minute individual interview. The office is open Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm. Individual interviews will take place from Thursday, February 7, 2019, to Wednesday, February 13, 2019, and will be 30 minutes long.
RA group process is a 1-2 hour session where you participate in groups with other students. Group process is another formal part of the selection process and is mandatory for you to attend if you wish to be considered for the RA position. Group process is a time where we are able to watch you interact with other candidates. This portion of the process gives insight into teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking as current RAs and RLCs observe the small groups.
Please save the Group Process date in your calendar (Friday, February 22, 2019). Those selected to move onto Group Process will receive an e-mail on Friday, February 15 specifying the directions on registering for a time. Candidates will have until Monday, February 18, 2019, at 5 pm to register.
