Abstract

“My World” is a visual exploration of the merger between the physical environments that I have interacted with as well as the thoughts and emotions that I have sorted through while in them. This piece came about as an exploration of my struggles with identity and the trajectory of my personal and professional lives. The processes of making, cutting, and collaging the photographs acted as a catharsis of confusion, anxiety, and sadness. Through the process of making this piece, I realized that it is a symbolic understanding and acceptance of my many layers. As I continue to sort through different aspect of my personal and professional lives, I find more answers and peace in the things that I have experienced.
